Isn’t WWOOF Bulgaria supposed to be free?

Up until June 2010, WWOOFBulgaria was a free network the network has grown significantly and with it the costs to the admin team. Your membership fee pays for a WWOOF Bulgaria administrator to visit all farms, promotion of WWOOF Bulgaria and a postal service to the farms to enable WWOOF Bulgaria to reach rural Bulgarian farmers who lack internet access. These very reasonable fees help to improve your WWOOFing experience and help organic farms in Bulgaria.

What experience do I need?

You don’t need any farm experience at all. What you do need is a willingness to help and learn, laugh and try your best. The hosts will guide and teach you.

Do I need a visa to be a WWOOFer?

If you are a not Bulgarian and planning to travel to Bulgaria from another country you may need to apply for a visa, do this well in advance. Internationally “WWOOFing” is recognized as World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms. The word work is best not metioned when you apply for your visa. We are not responsible for any aspect of securing a visa.

Insurance?

Insurance cover is advisable while Travelling, especially if you are not a Bulgarian Resident. If you don’t have insurance yet be sure to check that the insurance policy covers you while you are doing voluntary work.
