We are two friends owning a Small farm of 0.3 ha near the Bulgarian-Serbian border - veggie gardening, some orchard trees, bee keeping and 8 chickens :) The village is situated in one of the most severely affected by the climate change regions in the country. There are a lot of challenges to grow food and we count a lot on adaptation approaches. We are happy that some of our eco-practices are already adopted by the neigbours. We are willing to host people who want to help us eastablish the small eco farm and to learn interesting gardening and canning practices. We hope that volunteers are ready to improvise with the bathroom as we still do not have one in the house. Food is prepared in a wood stove - season ingredients + supply of basic incredients from the market is what we promise to our guests. We avoid meat (although we are not vegetarians) and processed food and ingredients.
On top we have a strong non-discriminatory policy - be sure you won't be judjed by gender, colour, disability, nationality, ethnic belonging, religion, sexual orientation or your philosophy of life - we like to meet colorful, optimistic and openminded people, who are open to the world and all the diversity on Earth. People with cheerful tallents like singing and playing a music instrument are very very welcome
Bulgarian, English, Ukrainian, Russian, bischen Deutsch, petit peu Francais
We are successfull bee keepers and growing our number of bee hives. We are able to produce good harvest of vegetables in a place where many people complain from draught and weather generally, and from the lack of proper soil fertility. We use no chemical treatment and pepare our own compost and herbal plant treatments. We strongly believe the small scale farming and living outside of the big city is a way to keep the planet alive and keep ourselves sane. We chose the location of our farm due to the many challenges of the region and because of the proximity with the Capitol where we try to have our civil campaigns on making the world and the region a better place - our professions keep us tight to the city of Sofia so we can only be urban and not completely rural.
- Strong respect to the nature - we use no chemicals on our land and nothing but natural cosmetics - We want to show to the local people the forgotton ways but we also learn a lot from the locals - We are willing to gradually built a community of cool ope
There every weekend and some of the weekdays
We also consider becoming a hub for volunteers who would help out retreat the public areas in the village and set up some community initiatives
