Our farm is setuated in just 30 km west of the South Black Sea coast in Bulgaria. The vilagge is in outskirts of Strandja Montain. We have nearly 30 decars of land. We grow mostly seasonal plants: onions, garlic, potatoes, beans maise, and many other. Almost everithing which can grow in this latitude, but the plants we can grow better than enyone else are melones and water melones.This is our proud. We do not use allof the land, because we have no manpower at the moment. So , we will be happy to accomodate volunteers, who can help us to use capacity of the land. I think it will be unforgettable experience for the volunteers, because the work is lemeted in some prosses, which are required, all of the reast time can be used for cultural tourism and Sun bathing.So, You are welcomed.

Natural building project which will be come a resource for studying substainable building, including strawbale, light clay straw, light clay woodchip, cordwood and other natural building techniques, set into 6 decares of permaculture based land with views over six mountain ranges. We have a comfortable caravan for volunteers, we provide good food with a choice of vegetarian or meat eating, plus the odd bottle of beer! Wonderful area for walking or climbing, and although we do some work together there is time to explore the area and get to know this fabulous country, with it's excellent wildlife and flora.

Chudna rabota

The farm is in Sivil, about 5km from the centre of Zhelen, along a forest path. My nearest neighbour is around 15 minutes away :-) A quiet peaceful place, in the mountains which run past it. At the moment there are two little cabins, but there are 4 tents for guests…..So that I can make my own produce for myself and my friends. To create a center for meditation and relaxation, which will be self sufficient. My skills are varied :-)I want to live with my friends in peace and prosperity

Rodovo imenie Izvorche

Hello! We are Tania and Kosio from Kin's Estate “Little Spring”. These types of places, called Kin’s Estates are described in the books of the Russian author Vladimir Megre, “The Ringining Cedars of Russia”. We started 3 years ago. This is a project, which includes the creation of a self-supporting ecosystem of a forest, lake, an orchard, vegetable and herb garden and animals, all done in such a way that so that in the future the owner puts in the minimal amount of work. Naturally, this type of project is very long term and for now we are proud to have built ourselves a straw bale house in which we live all year round. We have planted our 14 dekars (14 000 sq.m.), a forest all around and in the middle a lake filled by the winter rain. We have little fruit trees most of which we plant directly on the spot from seed or cuttings, previously rooted by ourselves. We have 2 horses, a dog and a cat. Vegetables we cultivate mostly in the fall-winter period and the spring, like: spinach, parsley, radishes, salad, dill, onion, garlic. We also have rye and wheat. All this is only for our own needs. We sell what is left over from our production on prices higher than the Organically certified farms as our fruits and vegetables as they are not cultivated for the market but for feeding the family. In them, we put in the energy of love, and none of the usual chemicals and poisons. This makes them the most qualified and wanted products on the consumer’s table at the moment. We have made a plan for the and with time we are realizing it. Around us we have neighbours that are realizing the same project, according to their dreams. Thus, we are working for the formation of a community of people who desire to live in this way, close to nature and happy. Every volunteer is welcome to stay with us that is if s/he agrees to live like we do while he is our guest. We are vegetarian and mostly we eat raw food, we don’t use cigarettes or alcohol. We can provide a tent for the summer as shelter. Drinking water we carry from the near spring.

St.James Park

I have been managing my land here organically and ethically for 4 years. I live in the most fascinating little village in the north of Bulgaria. Life goes on here pretty much as it has always done and is mostly based around a subsistence economy but things are slowly changing. I have the most lovely piece of land that I am slowly turning into a beautiful garden. Lots of volunteers have been here in the last couple of years and all have found it a great experience. I'm happy to be able to share my great life with you. (the food is great too!) A lovely early spring (interspersed with snow) in Bulgaria means that I would love to have some volunteers at any time - mainly for preparing beds and planting onions right now. Its best if volunteers come for around 3 weeks so they have a chance to really get into things but I'm open to any suggestions. I've just put a list of specific projects on my website -things like building a Japanese Tea Room, helping with the fences etc but i also need people to help with spring digging and planting – actually just all of the general food growing and land management jobs. Be warned - 6 of my volunteers have already bought houses here and another 5 are plotting and saving to move here - they loved it so much - this is a great place to get a new experience of traditional rural life. One last thing - hopefully you wont have any food hang ups or food disabilities - i grow lots of wonderful food here and i love it when volunteers enjoy every aspect of food with me.

Iskra Petrova

I am a producer. I appreciate the "green" living and try to imply it in my life in the big city. I have recently acquired a house in a high Rodopi mountain village and would like to prepare/ learn to do organic farming - I have no skills at all but want to learn. I want to eat food which I produce - clean and tasty. Through my company (production house) I have initiated in Sofia a social campaign for trash art - which can be applicable to people living in rural areas as well. I make jewelry and work with textile - and want to share these with other people.
